How to Manipulate your Manipulative Mind
By Kevin Viani
You ever have one of those days that everything is going wrong? Of course you have. Sometimes it seems as if more of those days happen than not. Relationship problems, anxiety about the holidays, feeling suffocated by your job, the list is endless.
When I’m caught in a self pity demoralizing state, I can get myself to believe that my life is the worst life in existence. I’ll truly convince myself that my problems are huge mountains that could never be climbed so I might as well give up and jump off.
This is we’re Journaling comes handy for me. I like to do grateful lists, goals lists, and nightly checkins. I have kept journals for years and it’s like a time machine.
Nothing like reading some of my suicidal poetry to remind me that I’m in much better place and have first world problems. Journaling saved my life. It showed me the insane places my mind goes. If you’re struggling in anyway or having stress or anxiety, write down what happened to bring you those feelings and see if you can find a pattern.
I hope this helps anyone who’s having a hard time. Be easy on yourself. I know for me that I’m my worst critic and my self hate talk can get out of control if I let it. If no one has told you today, I love you.
Have a good night,
